Description

This half-day course covers the WorkSafe requirements for managing hazardous substances in the workplace. The chemicals covered in this course are focused specifically to those used by aquatics industry.

This course also provides a pathway for those wishing to obtain 'Certified Handler' status.

Course Content

Hazardous substances are widely used in our workplaces, and it is important to know the risks and how to protect people from harm, this course will cover:

  • Identification of hazardous substances
  • Understanding and assessing the risks associated with hazardous substances
  • Regulations for hazardous substances
  • Requirements for managing hazardous substances and chemicals in the workplace

Assessment

This course has an open book 'In-class Assessment' which is completed at the course.

For those attendees wishing to obtain 'Certified Handler' status an additional 'Workplace Assessment' will be provided for completion back at your workplace.  There is an additional cost of $150 +GST person for those that wish to apply for 'Certified Handler' status.
